*Many factors must be considered when choosing your lens material. Lens thickness is only one of those factors. The lens calculator does not consider the need for safety impact resistance lenses. The lens calculator does not consider your needs for optical quality, scratch resistance, tinting, transition function, the ability to be used in drill mount frames, or UV blocking ability. You should consider all these criteria when making your final lens material selection. We always recommend polycarbonate lenses for children, patients with only one eye, or patients working or playing in hazardous environments.
*The size of the frame can also affect lens thickness. The larger the eye size of the frame, the thicker your lenses will be. If you are concerned about edge thickness, try not to choose a frame with an eye size measurement larger than 54 mm. Please see our frame size measurement guide under the above frame fit guide menu tab.
